Decision Theatre – Power examines communication difficulties between generations, as well as questions of authority and responsibility within the school environment.

The dramatic story presents a conflict that develops between a student and their homeroom teacher. As a result of misunderstandings and impulsive decisions made in the heat of the moment, the situation gradually escalates, and the lack of communication turns into abuse.

At key moments in the story, students are placed in decision-making situations: how would the teacher react, how would the student react, and what consequences might follow from different responses? In the reflective part of the programme, participants explore together how power dynamics operate, what communication traps emerge, and what role generational misunderstandings play.

The aim of the programme is to help both students and teachers recognise that conflicts are often rooted in misunderstanding and emotional reactions, and that connection, listening, and dialogue can redirect an escalating situation onto a different path.
